SOUNDBITE (English): ANALISA LOW, Ambassador of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to China
"This is my first time in Qinghai Province and from what I can see, the natural conditions are conducive to alternative energy resource development and clean energy projects. And like Qinghai, Trinidad and Tobago is also doing its part to reduce its carbon footprint and reduce its carbon emissions, especially in the area of operationalizing the decarbonization strategy.
There was the solar park project which was commissioned earlier in 2023. And the government of Trinidad and Tobago is very excited about this project, especially since it is the first large-scale solar project in Trinidad and Tobago and of course the wider Caribbean region.
So this is very important that small island developing states like Trinidad and Tobago can learn from Qinghai to see how we can all be part of the global conversation around green development and climate change."
