STORYLINE:
 
Thursday marks the 70th anniversary of the victory of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-53).
 
To observe the occasion, many Chinese people visited a memorial hall in Dandong, northeast China's Liaoning Province to remember the history and pay respect to the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) for making great sacrifices to defend the motherland.

"There are six of us. We came from Tianjin, and we specially came to visit the memorial hall commemorating the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea."

Many people also visited the Chinese People's Volunteers martyrs' cemetery in Shenyang, Liaoning Province to commemorate the war heroes.

"Some of my elders participated in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea. As this year marks the 70th anniversary of the victory of the war, I take my daughter here to pay tribute to the wartime heroes, hoping that she can better understand that our life is hard-won."
