The Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Ranger 1 helicopter crew conducted two consecutive air rescues on July 23, 2023, each a hundred miles apart in the sweltering heat of the Arizona summer.

Footage released by AZDPS showcases the dual missions undertaken by the crew. Initially, they were called to assist the Pinal County Sheriff's Office in rescuing hikers suffering from heat-related issues on the Siphon Draw Trail. This was swiftly followed by a mission to aid stranded dirt bikers north of Crown King who were battling heat exhaustion.

The department further stressed the importance of proper hydration and ensuring cell phones are fully charged and ready for emergencies. This incident serves as a testament to the perils of heat exposure and the heroics of rescue crews tirelessly working to keep adventurers safe.
