A village in Yen Bai, Vietnam, was swamped with rocks and mud after flash floods wreaked havoc in the area.

Footage from August 10 shows locals trying to navigate streets covered in 2-metre-high piles of debris.

Excavators are seen being used to remove the mud and rocks that knocked down walls and entered residents' homes.

According to locals, the unprecedented flash flood has left their area covered in mud and rocks. Floodwater brought a huge amount of mud into hundreds of houses along with huge rocks that knocked down walls and flooded houses.
Residents said that when they returned home, their belongings were submerged in mud. There are places where the volume of mud is up to 2 meters high.
Remedial work from the flash flood is still underway. Four people died, dozens were injured and hundreds of houses were destroyed by flash floods.
