'Homeless' Stormtrooper asks for change on London train
A bizarre video has emerged from a late-night London train of a man dressed in a full stormtrooper outfit begging for change.
The footage, captured as the train passed through Balham, south London, UK on Tuesday night, shows the man walking down the aisle asking passengers for change with a plastic cup - remarking "may the force be with you."
The filmer, Thomas Evans, said: "So I'm on my commute home, a guy dressed as a Stormtrooper gets on at Balham and does a speech about how the 'First Order' has made him homeless.
"He then starts going round asking for change. Some people gave him some as he came round with his cup. Others totally ignored the whole spectacle (as if it happens every day) and others seemed kind of amused. He then got off at Gipsy Hill and disappeared into the night."
Referencing the new Star Wars film, out this week, the 37-year-old copywriter joked: "Old school Stormtrooper begging on a train. I guess the First Order (newer, shinier Stormtroopers) has a lot to answer for!"
He added that the unusual sight was like "Christmas coming early" for him as he's a huge fan of the films, and has tickets to see The Force Awakens on its first day.
