A week after Storm Daniel hit the region, rescue teams continued their search operations for survivors in Derna and the rest of the cities of Jabal Akhdar following the floods that the coastal city located in northeastern Libya witnessed.

The rescuers are facing difficulties during their work due to the spread of the smell of decomposing bodies in the neighbourhoods, and they have called on the authorities to spray them with pesticides to combat epidemics, while local companies specialized in disinfection and cleaning have begun arriving in the cities of Derna and Sousse.

A scale of disaster is too big,and there is a huge number of victims. We are trying to handle it and stay alive as well.
We must expedite the recovery of bodies from the sea and land for fear of creating a health crisis as a result of the pollution of the water and environment here. Becasue city started to smell of dead bodies and of course all drinkable water over region is polluted with bacteries that are very risky for health. Most of our team members get weak and sick.
There must be a study by specialists and the World Health Organization to prevent pollution in this area.

This is the third stage is the epidemic stage. Situation is really critic here.
We ask God to protect us from it.
Because now the bodies have entered the stage of rotting.
As you know, after the decomposition process, there must be a vaccine for young people involved in rescue operations, whether at sea or on land. There must be complete vaccination. Till now, we have not received any type of vaccine even WHO says that they bringed AID package for it.
We are tired of promises every day, they say tomorrow is tomorrow. And That day never comes. They will do it when all local and rescue teams will be infected and died.
There are people who cannot tolerate epidemics, and also people who suffer from chronic allergies and now suffer from skin rashes.
Of course, yesterday we worked with a large boat (launch) and with us a company of young scouts, the ambulance squad, the emergency team, and the Red Crescent. We were able to remove eight bodies.
