Officials of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rescued 25 people who were trapped after heavy rainfall led to a river overflowing in western India's Maharashtra.

This incident happened in Ambajhari Lake area in Nagpur on September 23.

Visuals showed the rescue operation at work. The officials waded through the heavily-flooded area to rescue the trapped people. The water even entered the houses with the items, including furniture of a person's residence floating in the mud water. The officials carried the people on their backs and saved them from the flooded buildings. Those rescued were made to wear life jackets and were taken on these boats to safety.

Earlier, a similar incident had happened in the Barabanki district of northern India's Uttar Pradesh where the SDRF officials rushed to the aid of people who were stranded in their flooded houses as a result of incessant rainfall.
