SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): BAYI BOUMAL FRANCK LANDRY, Student at Huaiyin Institute of Technology, Jiangsu Province
"My Chinese name is Bayi. I'm from Cameroon. I came to study in China, and teachers here taught me a lot of knowledge. Since I started learning Chinese, I have gained an understanding of a new culture in addition to learning the language. Chinese people respect teachers and their teaching, which I think has contributed to my growth in wisdom.
I found that Chinese teachers not only imparted knowledge to me, but also taught me life lessons and ways to interact with others. Our instructors work very hard and are really helpful. They are not just teachers for us. I can feel that they take care of us from the bottom of their hearts."

SOUNDBITE 2 (Chinese): BAYI BOUMAL FRANCK LANDRY, Student at Huaiyin Institute of Technology, Jiangsu Province
"I gained a lot of knowledge in science and technology in the areas of machinery and intelligence, which was acquired both in and outside the classrooms. For example, I can buy tickets, do some shopping, and do many other things with my mobile phone that I would never have imagined being possible. I'm delighted to come to China because I can advance my knowledge and live a smart life here."

SOUNDBITE 3 (Chinese): BAYI BOUMAL FRANCK LANDRY, Student at Huaiyin Institute of Technology, Jiangsu Province
"I usually play basketball with Chinese or international students. We occasionally participated in some competitions. Last year, we competed in the 2023 BRI men's 3x3 basketball tournament and won a prize."

SOUNDBITE 4 (Chinese): BAYI BOUMAL FRANCK LANDRY, Student at Huaiyin Institute of Technology, Jiangsu Province
"The first time I heard of the Belt and Road Initiative was on the news. Under the BRI, the Chinese government provided people from other countries with lots of opportunities to study in China and learn about China. The BRI has offered me lots of help and opportunities. The cooperation with China has also helped our country make so much progress."
