Egypt released 53.7 billion U.S. dollars worth of imported goods from ports in the first nine months this year.

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Tuesday discussed ways of facilitating customs clearance procedures for commodities at various Egyptian ports with ministers.

Madbouly indicated that the government is in an effort to reach the goal of transforming various Egyptian ports into global ones, with the aim of increasing trade movement.

The meeting referred that during the period from Jan. 1 to Sept. 30, the total value of the goods released amounted to 53.7 billion U.S. dollars. In details, the value of the strategic goods amounted to 14.3 billion U.S. dollars while the total value of the production supplies reached 24.8 billion U.S. dollars.
