STORYLINE:

An annular solar eclipse was observed on Saturday in Americas.

It was the second and last solar eclipse of the year.

The solar eclipse's annular band began in the northeastern Pacific Ocean and passed through several countries including the United States, Mexico, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Colombia, and Brazil before ending in the western Atlantic Ocean, according to the Purple Mountain Observatory under the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

A partial eclipse could be seen in North America (except for the extreme west and northeast), South America (except for the south), the eastern Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean (except for the north and southeast), and the extreme west of Africa.

Solar eclipses also have other three types: total solar eclipse, partial solar eclipse, and hybrid solar eclipse (a combination of total and annular eclipses).
