A motorcyclist survived when he was hit by a lorry and pushed into a building before being trapped under the wreckage.

CCTV cameras captured the incredible escape after the accident on a road in Luzhou, in China's south-western Sichuan Province at approximately 3 pm on October 11.

Shocking footage shows the lorry carrying animal feed losing control at a sharp turn and hitting the slow-moving motorbike rider from behind who had no chance to evade it on time.

The lorry then veered off the road and skidded to the left, dragging along the knocked-down bike for several feet. But as it smashed into a small car park in front of a building, the rider was bounced into the air and rolled to one side seconds as the lorry crashed into a wall and a house, causing the wall to partially collapse.

Yet incredibly he escaped being hit by any of the debris and also avoided being pushed over the ledge into a massive drop below as the lorry driver and vehicle came crashing down.

The escape in which the lorry driver himself was left seriously injured when the cab was mangled was captured by the camera, including the moment what appears to be water from a rooftop tank plunged onto the scene of devastation.

Emergency workers later had to cut the driver free from the cabin after he was pinned inside and unable to move. Firefighters confirmed that they needed specialised cutting equipment and hydraulic gear, and it took more than an hour to free the trapped driver.

Another clip shows them carrying the injured driver away from the wreck immediately after freeing him. Fortunately, both the biker and the lorry driver are expected to make a full recovery, local media reported.

It is unclear what caused the lorry to lose control, although it appeared as if the brakes failed. An investigation is underway.
