Sergio Massa, Argentina's Minister of Economy and presidential candidate of the party Union por la Patria, voted in Argentina's election on Sunday 22 October.

He voted after more than 20 minutes of waiting at School No. 34 'Antartida Argentina' in the Buenos Aires town of Tigre, and spoke about how the elections were being carried out.

"Today is a day that forces us to work thinking about the consolidation of 40 years of democracy and to attend thinking about the future of Argentina with the conviction that we have the enormous task since December 10, whoever governs, of resolving a countless problems of Argentina."

The same day, Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, also voted.

She cast her ballot in Rio Gallegos and harshly questioned the direction that incumbent President Alberto Fernandez took during his term of office.

She also ruled out leaving politics even though she will no longer have a formal position.

"In 2015 I didn't want jurisdiction and neither do I now, but I'm going to continue fighting," she said.
