London Mayor Sadiq Khan visits the London Stadium in the Olympic Park and meets with employees who are receiving the new ‘London living wage’. The special wage, created by the charity Living Wage Foundation, means more than 130,000 Londoners will see a 10% pay rise as the wage increases to from £11.95 an hour to £13.15 an hour, if their company signs up to the scheme.

The Mayor urges companies to sign up even if they have cost of living concerns, as the new London living wage will helps businesses improve recruitment, retention, and increase productivity and profits. The Mayor also said he urges the Government to support public sector insitutions including schools, to help allow them to participate in taking up the Longon living wage.
