Dusky Moorhens (Gallinula tenebrosa) are common Australian waterbirds that mostly inhabit permanent or temporary wetlands. Dusky Moorhens eat a range of vegetable matter as well as aquatic invertebrates. They form promiscuous breeding groups, where all males mate with all of the females. All members of the group defend territory, build nests, incubate eggs and care for the young. In this video two adult Moorhens were caring for three large young, feeding some of them Duckweed and algae.
