STORYLINE:

Entrepreneurs and experts highlighted the need for the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in education during an international educational fair held between Tuesday and Thursday at the Ifema Convention Center in Madrid, Spain.

The 2023 edition of the International Exhibition of Educational Technology and Innovation is an annual event that brings together the leading brands in technology and digital content for education. This year, the main focus is AI in education.

SOUNDBITE 1 (Spanish): JOSE ANTONIO SANCHEZ, Head of education at Dahua Technology Iberia
"Artificial intelligence (AI) has sparked a revolution in the world of education because students have started using it before teachers."

Dahua Technology Iberia has developed various audiovisual equipment, security cameras, and video-based AI solutions, along with intelligent software to allow teachers to integrate this technology into their educational projects.

SOUNDBITE 2 (Spanish): JOSE ANTONIO SANCHEZ, Head of education at Dahua Technology Iberia
"There are a lot of tools that students already use, so teachers have to have tools to help them leverage that part and teach students good practices with the artificial tool."

SOUNDBITE 3 (Spanish): SOL GARCIA, Director of Samoo by Pentec
"We see how artificial intelligence has come to stay in the educational process in order to optimize all those flows at the academy level of delivery management."

According to HolonIQ's 2020 EdTech Outlook Report, the educational technology market is projected to reach 252 billion U.S. dollars by 2025, with a compound annual growth of 17 percent. Investments in educational technology startups already reached 16.1 billion dollars globally by 2020, setting a record.

These figures reflect a clear upward trend in technology investment and adoption in education, generating significant prospects for development and opportunities in the sector.
