STORYLINE:
The village of Beaujeu, north of Lyon, celebrated the arrival of barrels of Beaujolais Nouveau, a wine very popular for export, on the third Thursday of November at midnight.
It has been a tradition in France since 1967.
Some 8,000 people waited until midnight to taste the wine distributed in the epicenter village of Beaujolais production.
