Riots erupted in Dublin on Thursday 23 November, after four people, a woman in her 30s and three young children, were injured in a knife attack outside a primary school.

In the hours after the attack, protesters gathered near the scene of the incident and began attacking police officers, setting fire to vehicles and a tram.

Gardaí, the national police and security service, announced the unrest was driven by a "lunatic, hooligan faction driven by a far-right ideology."

Footage shot in the area of O’Connell Street showed vehicles that had been torched by the rioters.
