A cow was rescued after it fell into an open drain in central India's Madhya Pradesh.

This happened in front of the Degree Hostel in Shahdol district on November 26.

Visuals showed the rescue operation being conducted by the Atal Kamdhenu Gau Seva Sansthan. The cow stood inside the open drain and later, was seen lying down on the water. One of the rescuers got down and tied ropes around the bovine so that it could be pulled upwards.

The cow was then pulled up from the drain by the rescuers together with a lot of effort. The ropes were subsequently untied and the animal got back up to its feet. It was learnt that cows often fall down into the drain and that there have been several requests made to the officials to take care of this problem but nothing has been done so far.
