A woman has revealed that people are constantly mistaking her for Angelina Jolie, asking if she’s had surgery to look like the A-lister.

Melissa Bazan started to dress as the actress after seeing her play Lara Croft in the 2001 film Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, directed by Simon West.

Dressing as beloved characters, such as Maleficent, causes people to double take and she says she is stopped in her normal clothes, even struggling to go to dinner without being mistaken for the star.

Sharing her likeness on Instagram (@melwood1982 ), she gained over 6,000 followers and nearly 7,000 views on posts, with fans calling her “Jolie”.

“I have received double takes and comments on the likeness,” Melissa, from Wisconsin, US, told http://NeedToKnow.co.uk.

“I’ve had a handful of comments in restaurants, and going through drive throughs.

“I get mistaken for her when I’ve dressed as Maleficent for Renfaire, some people wonder if it’s her.

“I always get asked about plastic surgery and to answer - no, I’ve never had surgery and I never would.”

Having never met the famous mum-of-six, Melissa dreams of one day bumping into her idol.

She added: “I really enjoyed Angelina Jolie’s version of the character (Lara Croft in TombRaider) and decided to cosplay as her,

“I have to say Maleficent is my all time favourite character to dress as, mostly due to the reactions I get.

“It’s so much fun when you walk by a group of people and you can just see that all the work you put into the costume, as well as looking like her, has them truly floored.

“I don’t spend a lot on outfits.

“The only one that cost money is Maleficent, due to the fact that I had to buy some props, as well as items to sew the clothing.

“But I try to keep things pretty low budget.”

Sharing a picture on Instagram, she gained over 1,550 likes, with people constantly commenting on her likeness.

One person said: “Your absolutely beautiful can you dress up as tomb raider and post a picture of yourself on Instagram.”

Chris wrote: “God you look like a young Angelina Jolie.”

Ray commented: “You look more like Angelina Jolie than Angelina Jolie does...”

“Omg. Lookalike,” said another person.

“Angelina Jolie should pay your royalties to fool the paparazzi. You're gorgeous!” said Ashley.
