Yobs aimed fireworks at police station leaving one cop hurt before hero rugby tackles one to ground

Yobs aimed fireworks at a police station leaving one cop injured.

Six rockets exploded in front of the building as one onlooker filmed the horror scenes.

Huge flashes and smoke from the fireworks are seen.

A brave man is then seen rugby tackling one of the mindless men to the ground.

He is seen crossing the road with a white carrier bag in his hand.

The man drops it on the pavement and sprints over and rugby tackles one to the floor.

He is then seen pinning him to the ground as the fireworks continue to go off.

It is unknown if he was a police officer or a bystander.

One officer was left with minor injuries.

Cops arrested three men in connection with the attack on Acton Police Station, Acton, west London.

Shocked local Zinan Melo said: “What is really going on with people in London?”

Michael Knight praised the man who apprehended one of them.

He said: “Give that man a medal, what an epic takedown.”

Matthew Le Chevalier said: "Great tackle. Well played that man."

Mel Hitchcock echoed this adding: “Excellent, well done that person.

“Police officers are also someone’s child, parents and friend.”

Paul Griffiths said: “Total respect to the bloke who got stuck in.”

Another - named Bernie - joked: “Where are the police?”

A Met Police spokesperson said: "At approximately 8:10pm on Tuesday, 31 October fireworks were set off towards Acton Police Station.

“One officer was treated for minor injuries.

"Officers from the Territorial Support Group attended the location to assist local officers with the incident.

"Three males were arrested in connection with this incident and enquiries continue.”
