Supporters of the climate action group 'Just Stop Oil' gathered outside the Kensington home of UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, beating pots and pans to amplify their demand for an immediate halt to all future licenses and consents for fossil fuel exploration in the country.

Carrying placards with messages like 'COP Failure=Crop Failure' and 'Arrest the Real Criminals,' the activists listened to speeches and a performance by musician Louise Harris of her new single 'We Tried.'

The song, reaching Number 1 on iTunes singles chart, has gained momentum globally and is endorsed by Chris Packham, who advocates for its Christmas number one status.

Around 40 police officers arrived at 8:30 pm, detaining all supporters under the Police Reform Act. Sixteen were later arrested.

Pia Bastide, a present community worker, criticised the authorities for targeting peaceful activists rather than addressing climate concerns.

Simultaneously, generous donors, including Chris Packham, pledge to double donations to Just Stop Oil in the next 72 hours, emphasizing the urgency of environmental responsibility. The group plans a mass march on December 2nd from New Scotland Yard, highlighting the ongoing resistance against new oil and gas projects.

The arrest count of Just Stop Oil supporters since October 30 stands at 657, with nine currently in prison.

Activists said they are determined to continue their fight against what they perceive as the government's prioritisation of corporate interests over environmental well-being. The mass march on December 2nd aims to amplify their call to end new oil and gas projects.
