The Higher Police Headquarters of La Rioja executed a controlled detonation of explosive materials, involving 39 fire extinguishers and a pyrotechnic casing from the last San Mateo Festival.

Coordinated by the TEDAX-NRBQ Specialty and the Aerial Media Unit, the controlled explosions aimed to study the effects of these materials when used to combat forest fires.

Tests included variations in explosion arrangements, providing valuable data on water projection, container fragment sizes, distances reached, and consumption time.

Additionally, a potentially hazardous pyrotechnic casing, recovered from the San Mateo festivities, was safely neutralized.

Collaborating with Red Cross personnel and an ambulance vehicle ensured a secure operation during the destruction process.
