This footage was filmed and produced 13 December 2023.

On Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 12:09 p.m., Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Lt. Christopher Pecori, part of the esteemed Venom One Response team, successfully encountered and captured an invasive Red Tail Boa Constrictor in the midst of a roadway.

The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) received a distress call reporting a sizable python menacing a group of peafowl, underscoring the threat these invasive species pose to local wildlife.

Upon swift response, Lt. Pecori identified the serpent as an eight-foot-long, 40-pound Red Tail Boa Constrictor. Displaying exceptional skill, he safely captured the reptile, securing it in a large tarp.

The snake has since been removed from the residential area and is slated to be handed over to Florida Fish and Wildlife authorities for further processing.
