This is the moment a female motorcyclist saves herself by abandoning her bike seconds after a lorry reverses on the road and smashes it.

Surveillance camera footage captured by Zhejiang Traffic Police in China, shows the biker waiting on the right lane for the traffic lights to go green on December 17.

However, instead of moving forwards, the truck driver, allegedly unaware that there was someone behind them, suddenly began backing up, leaving the motorcyclist with nothing else to do but to jump off the bike to save her life.

Just seconds after the rider's split-second decision to leave the bike in the middle of the road, the truck reverses over the entire motorcycle, only coming to a stop with the bike lodged under it.

Zhejiang Traffic Police said in a statement: 'A large truck reversed at will at an intersection, but the driver of an electric bicycle behind them decisively abandoned the vehicle to save their life.'
