An elderly woman on an electric trike was caught on video as she crashed into someone's home as she lost control of her vehicle.

At-home surveillance cameras captured the moment she rushed through the open house door in the city of Chengdu in Sichuan Province, south-western China, on the morning of December 17.

In the video a man is seen sitting behind a large wooden desk near the open door facing the street.

Suddenly, an elderly woman on a tricycle, wearing a layer of winter clothes and a red hat, drove into the home, nearly knocking over the desk as she sped in past the camera.

In the background, a loud crashing noise could be heard, followed by the sound of bottles and other objects toppling down moments before the footage ends.
