Dazzling 'rainbow' clouds delight UK residents
Rare "rainbow" clouds, known as Nacreous or iridescent clouds, were spotted across the UK skies on Thursday morning, delighting residents and skywatchers.
These colourful clouds form due to cold air high in the atmosphere and are made of smaller ice particles that scatter light differently. The phenomenon has been witnessed across the UK since early this week.
