STORYLINE:

As winter casts its frosty spell on the Changbai Mountain in China's Jilin, high-speed railway has brought new vitality to the ice and snow economy in the region.

The first high-speed railway linked to the Changbai Mountain was launched two years ago.

In 2023, the travel time from Changbai Mountain to Beijing was further reduced by 40 minutes to a little more than six hours.

"Since the winter season, the number of tourists coming to Changbai Mountain has increased. We provide reservation and ticketing services for skiing groups. For travelers with large ski boards, the station has opened a special channel."

"Tourist numbers to Changbai Mountain have surged by around 50 percent compared to past years. Most visitors have come here by high-speed train. We've also launched free shuttle services at the high-speed rail station for tourists."
