Former President Donald Trump formally asked the US Supreme Court to overturn the ruling of the Colorado top court that removed him from the state ballot by 2024, under the "insurrection clause" According to sources familiar with the matter.
"This Court should grant certiorari (a legal remedy) to consider this matter of utmost importance, summarily overturn the ruling of the Colorado Supreme Court, and return to voters the right to vote for their preferred candidate.", Trump’s lawyers wrote in the document.
