This is the heartwarming moment residents helped newborn geckos hatch from eggs in Thailand.

The locals were cleaning a room to prepare for their friend's wedding when they found a clutch of eggs on the wall in Khon Kaen province in the barren northeast of the country.

As the baby reptiles appeared to have trouble crawling out of their shells, one woman helped them by using a trowel to gently break open the egg fragments.

The friends put the hatchlings in a box and later released them into the garden.
