STORYLINE:

Despite the freezing weather in Dunhua, northeast China's Jilin Province, winter swimmers from around the world dove into the icy Bohai Lake on Thursday in a winter swimming competition.

The competition attracted more than 700 athletes, ranging from 9 to 78 years old, from 35 countries and regions.

After intense competition, Russian swimmers Rusgulakov P. Vladon and Guznezaova Valonina secured championships in men's and women's categories (under 29 years old) respectively.
