Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with visiting United Nations senior humanitarian and reconstruction coordinator for Gaza Sigrid Kaag on Tuesday in Cairo.
During the meeting, Shoukry stressed Egypt's support for the implementation of all provisions of Security Council Resolution 2720 to accelerate and increase the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Shoukry affirmed that ceasefire in Gaza is the only way to end the tragedy in the Strip.
Kaag expressed her deep appreciation for Egypt's efforts to alleviate the human suffering of the residents of the Gaza Strip, stressing the necessity of carrying on the consultations with Cairo to resume the role of the agency.
