STORYLINE:

Moscow International House of Music held the "Russia-China" gala concert on Monday evening.

The program featured Chinese and Russian classical music performed by young soloists from both countries to the accompaniment of the State Kremlin Orchestra.

"Our concert emphasizes that we are fraternal peoples. China and Russia are friendly countries that are connected not only by centuries-old friendship, but also by culture. Culture cannot divide us, but only unite us."

Cao Xu, a young Chinese composer and student of Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, wrote the composition "On the Road" for the concert.

"Music is an art without borders. It can serve the carrier of the cultures of the two countries, and the history passed down through generations, our philosophy and beliefs. At the same time, you can put hope in music for friendly relations between our countries, as in today's work that I wrote."

The concert presented masterpieces by Chinese classics Xian Xinghai, Chen Zi, Luo Zongxian, and Russian classics Pyotr Chaikovsky, Sergey Rachmaninoff and Glinka.
