An elderly man jumped into a lake to save a 6-year-old boy from drowning in southern China.

The video was filmed in Changsha City in Hunan Province on January 13.

According to reports a woman first noticed the boy falling into the water. Initially, people attempted to use branches to reach the boy but were unsuccessful.

Mr. Shi bravely jumped into the water and quickly rescued the boy in a short amount of time.

Shi mentioned in the report that neither he nor the boy suffered any injuries.
