A cow was rescued after it fell into a narrow drain in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh.

After a prolonged effort, the cow was eventually safely removed from the drain.

A cow was rescued after it had fallen into a drain in central India's Madhya Pradesh.

This incident happened near the Banganga Universal Gym in Shahdol district of the state on January 15.

Visuals showed the rescue operation being conducted by the Atal Kamdhenu Gau Sewa Sansthan. The big cow had fallen into the drain and gotten stuck inside.

The rescuers had a tough time pulling out the animal due to there being little to no room inside the narrow drain. Some of the ones involved in this rescue operation initially got down into the drain and attempted to pull the cow out but it was not easy due to the bovine's massive size and little space inside the drain. The rescuers, however, managed to grab hold of its front legs and pull it out. Some also tightly pulled its horns to drag it out.

The rescue operation initially didn't see much success with the people continuously attempting to bring the animal out of the drain. But there was light at the end of the tunnel. After prolonged effort, the rescuers were finally able to pull out the cow from the drain and have it sit in the area adjacent to it. The rescuers also tended to the animal after it was pulled out of the drain.

As per a report, the information of this cow having fallen into the drain had reached the Atal Kamdhenu Gausevak Sansthan at 8:26 am IST (Indian Standard Time) and the bovine was rescued by 9:39 am IST.
