A rare brown panda curled up for a nap under falling snow in its enclosure.

Footage shows the sleepy bear named Qizai peacefully dozing on the ground despite the cold snow slowly burying it under a sheet at the Qinling Wildlife Park in Shaanxi province, China, on January 16.

The brown panda, better known as the Qinling panda, is a subspecies of the giant panda that is found in the Qinling Mountains of Shaanxi Province.

The Qinling panda is characterized by its smaller size and a different colour pattern than the more common black and white giant pandas. It often has a lighter colouration, with brown or light tan patches in its fur and the usual black and white markings.

The Qinling panda's distinct features and genetic differences make it an interesting and unique subset of the giant panda population. There are estimated to be only between 200 and 300 Qinling pandas living in the wild.
