Dashcam footage shows how a driver lost one of the tyres when it suddenly detached and rolled down the motorway without him noticing.

Video recorded in the city of Xiaogan in Hubei, China, showed the motorist in the white vehicle speeding along the Fuyin Expressway at around 3:30 pm on January 21.

But just seconds into the video, one of the driver's tyres suddenly detached from the car and began rolling down the road, as they continued to speed along without realising what had happened.

Driver He Tao Ni, who captured the incident while driving behind, said: 'At that time, I felt something was wrong with the car in front of me. The tyres were so flat that they were smoking. The tyres just ran away from their home.

'But then, the driver acted like nothing was wrong and continued to drive his vehicle forward.'

The terrified woman said it was the first time she experienced something similar while on the road, and explained how at the time she slowed down to avoid the speeding tyre coming her way.
