STORYLINE:

In recent years, China has seen a rapid development in drone formation shows.

These shows, characterized by their diverse applications, have extended beyond official celebrations, scenic spot promotions, and large-scale event openings, attracting interest from ordinary citizens who have become a new consumer base for this innovative form of entertainment.

With advancements in overall coordination, viewer experience, and safety measures, drone formation shows have matured significantly. From design to execution, these shows adhere to strict procedural guidelines.

The growing popularity of drone formation shows is not only enriching cultural experiences but also contributing to the development of tourism and night-time economies in various regions.

SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): LU LINGYUE, General manager of Jiangxi Aero Future
"The drone network communication we employ utilizes an encrypted local area network, effectively preventing network congestion issues caused by large crowds. Furthermore, we utilize the latest generation RTK differential positioning module, ensuring positioning errors of each aircraft within 1 centimeter. Additionally, our drones employ route pre-upload guarantees, enabling offline control post-takeoff. Even if all ground equipment is shut down, our aircraft can still operate normally."

SOUNDBITE 2 (Chinese): LONG LIPING, Guizhou Shuzhi Cultural Technology Co., Ltd. Head of the UAV Performance Department
"Generally, upon receiving a customer's request, we initiate the process with preliminary graphic design. Once the design is approved by the customer, we proceed to create a dot matrix diagram. This stage heavily relies on manual drawing techniques. Following this, we move on to 3D modeling and trajectory design for animation. After finalizing these steps and obtaining customer confirmation, the design is sealed and distributed to the onsite execution team for implementation."

SOUNDBITE 3 (Chinese): HUANG ZONGCE, Deputy general manager of Guizhou Shuzhi Cultural Technology Co., Ltd
"We also aim to implement some unconventional methods to promote the integration of science, technology, culture, and tourism in our province. These performances have been deployed in various settings including scenic spots, large-scale events, and iconic landmarks, significantly enhancing and enriching our cultural tourism and night economy."
