Scary moment avalanche hits a hill station in Kashmir, India
This is the terrifying moment an avalanche struck a hill station in northern India.
Footage shows the monstrous mass of snow tumbling down a slope and rushing toward the Sonamarg area in the Jammu and Kashmir region, on February 8.
The landslide was triggered near a workshop for the Zojila tunnel construction. It is believed to have been caused by the vibrations from ongoing work.
There were no casualties reported, as builders had been evacuated before the avalanche.
Authorities had earlier issued an avalanche warning for the upper regions of the Kashmir valley following heavy snowfall in the area in early February.
Locals have been advised against travelling to avalanche-prone areas in the next few days.
