Indian devotees more than 38 lakh people's took a dip in Ganga Praygraj on Magh Purnima

On Saturday, on Magh Purnima, the fifth bathing festival of Magh Mela in Sangam city, around 38.20 lakh people took a dip of faith in the Ganga and the holy Sangam till 6 pm amid the slogan 'Har Har Gange'. With the Magh Purnima bath, the Kalpavasi completed one month's Kalpvas and started returning to their homes.

An official of the Magh Mela administration said that despite the cloudy sky and cold weather since morning, around 38.20 lakh people took bath in Ganga and Sangam till 6 pm on Saturday evening. According to him, bathers continued to come to the Magh Mela area since the early hours, which included women, children and elderly people.
He said that for the convenience of bathers, the length of the ghats has been increased from 6800 feet to 8000 feet and a total of 12 ghats have been built and adequate number of changing facilities have been established at all the ghats.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Magh Mela) Rajiv Narayan Mishra said that elaborate security arrangements have been made in the fair area and more than 300 CCTV cameras and artificial intelligence (AI) based cameras have been installed in the entire fair area.
