This is the moment an unruly macaque peeled off a truck's rubber trim.

Footage shows the destructive animal tearing the rubber strip off the vehicle waiting at a level crossing in Lopburi, Thailand, on August 19.

Onlooker Kaikung said: 'There is often congestion in that area. There was not even any food on the pickup truck, but the monkey still caused damage.'

Lopburi has become a popular tourist destination because of its large population of monkeys. The monkeys are mostly long-tailed macaques, and they can be found all over the city, from the temples to the streets.

However, they can also be aggressive, and they have been known to steal food and belongings.
