Determined tourists painstakingly made their way up the Great Wall of China despite thick snow, making it an extremely slippery and risky quest.

Footage shows the persistent adventure seekers struggling to overcome the slippery surface of the Wall near the capital city of Beijing during an excursion on January 19.

Visitors were unexpectedly faced with snowy conditions that made climbing up the stone wall nearly impossible, but they climbed anyway.

Some of the people in the group were clinging to the cold rails to avoid tumbling down. One woman was seen trying to warm up their hands with her breath.

Another scene showed young children carefully trying to make their way down along the extremely slippery surface.

One toddler was seen clinging to a man's arm, presumably the father, and sliding down on its bum with dad's support.

A seemingly even larger number of tourists struggling to make their way to the top in their trainers.

One previous visitor said: 'Actually, I took the cable car up. It was snowing, creating a special atmosphere, so I contemplated walking down.

'It was the first time I came here, and I was blindly confident.

'Unexpectedly, there were such steep paths, and several sections had particularly steep and slippery slopes, haha.'
