A resident made a hilarious gadget to retrieve a shuttlecock from the roof.

Anchana Rumpeyphon was playing badminton with family when the item flew onto the roof of the house and she built the elaborate DIY electornic tool in Loei, Thailand on March 3.

Footage shows a long stick with a phone and a broom tied to its end with a rope.

She lifted the long pole while the electronic device was put on a video call mode to her tablet so she could see the top of the roof.

While watching from the device, she was able to locate the ball and pushed it down to retrieve it using the broom.

She said: ‘I had to get the shuttlecock from the roof so I built the gadget. Steve Cook would be proud of it. I could sell it to Apple and be rich.'
