The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Monday that they have successfully destroyed the largest Hamas tunnel discovered in northern Gaza. The tunnel, dug by Hamas militants, had multiple branches and extended from the northern Gaza Strip towards Israeli territory.

Although the tunnel did not cross into Israeli territory, the IDF deemed it a significant threat and took immediate action to dismantle it. The operation to study and destroy the tunnel began on December 16, 2023, and was successfully completed recently.
