A pet Shiba Inu that was paralysed after a long flight from China to the Philippines was rescued by pet handlers.

The puppy was weak and could not move after travelling via plane from another country to its new home in Manila when Gene Paul Santos and his friend found it on January 13.

Footage shows the pooch being rubbed with a towel on its back as Gene put on a makeshift oxygen mask around its mouth and nose.

He gave it some snacks and medicine while trying to calm the pooch, whom he said was stressed out from its journey.

Gene said: 'This wasn't the first time that we saved a pet cat or a dog. We learned how to revive pets because we have been importing them from different countries since 2020.

‘The Shiba Inu was stressed and only four-months-old. His owner was really happy that he survived.'
