A brave act by a Civil Guard officer in Melilla rescued a man who had fallen into the sea amidst rocky terrain and choppy waters.

Despite the cold water temperature and turbulent sea conditions caused by the ongoing storm, a Civil Guard officer wasted no time in diving into the water to save a man who had fallen into the sea in Melilla.

The incident occurred around 9:50 a.m. on March 23rd when a distress call alerted authorities to a middle-aged man who had fallen into the water.

Thanks to the Nir team (Swimming, Intervention, and Rescue) in Melilla, the intervention was swift as they plunged into the sea to rescue the man, who was in a precarious situation amidst the waves, close to the rocks. Even the three-engine boat manned by the Civil Guard officers faced challenges navigating the rough waters.

Despite the high tide and choppy sea conditions, the rescue team persevered. The officer bravely jumped into the water while colleagues on the boat threw a lifebuoy to the victim, enabling him to stay afloat until the Civil Guard officer reached him, battling the waves to provide assistance.

With the help of the three officers on board, and driven by the heroic actions of the Civil Guard officer, the man was successfully brought onto the boat, concluding the operation with success.

Following the rescue, the man was transported to the local hospital for medical attention. This incident highlights the courage and dedication of the Civil Guard in safeguarding lives, ultimately resulting in a successful outcome.
