A homeguard saved life of a man who was trying to commit suicide on a railway track in southern India's Telangana.

The incident took place on a railway track near Hunter Road within the limits of Warangal railway station on March 27.

Visuals showed the homeguard pulling the man commiting suicide to the side of the railway track just before the train approached.

Y Ravi, a home guard affiliated with the Warangal traffic division, rescued a 24-year-old individual named H Sonu, who was attempting suicide on a railway track near Hunter Road, within the vicinity of Warangal railway station on Wednesday evening. Upon noticing Sonu lying on the railway track with an approaching goods train, Ravi acted swiftly and managed to rescue the young man just before the train reached them.

According to Ravi, Sonu, who had relocated from Uttarakhand, worked as a painter in the tri-cities region. He resorted to the drastic measure due to conflicts within his family. After being rescued, Sonu was handed over to the authorities of the Warangal Government Railway Police (GRP), who then notified his family members about the incident.
