The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced Monday that the Palestinian death toll has risen to 33,207 as a result of ongoing Israeli attacks.

During the past 24 hours, the Israeli army killed 32 Palestinians and wounded 47 others, bringing the total death toll to 33,207 and injuries to 75,933 since the Palestine-Israel conflict broke out on Oct. 7, 2023, said the ministry in a statement.

Meanwhile, at least 67 bodies have been recovered in the southern Khan Younis city since the Israeli army withdrew from southern Gaza, according to the state-run Palestine TV.

With the Gaza conflict entering the seventh month, Israel has made substantial shifts to its military deployment, signaling intentions to wage new military operations.

On Sunday, the Israeli military withdrew nearly all ground troops from the southern Gaza Strip. Later in the day, the Israeli military announced in a statement that it had completed "another phase" of readiness for war in the north.

Following the withdrawal, the Israel Defense Forces and the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) under the Israeli Ministry of Defense issued a statement on social media saying that 419 trucks carrying humanitarian aid passed inspection and arrived in the Gaza Strip on Monday. This is also the largest number of trucks the agency has transferred to the Gaza Strip in a single day since the outbreak of the conflict last October.

On Sunday, with mediation from countries including Egypt and Qatar, delegates from Hamas and Israel convened in Cairo for discussions on reaching a ceasefire and a hostage-for-prisoner swap deal.

According to a senior Egyptian security officials on Monday, delegations from all parties participating in the ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip had temporarily left Cairo. The parties will return within two days to negotiate again on the specific terms of a final ceasefire plan.

Qatar's Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari said on Monday that ceasefire negotiations have not yet ended, but Qatar's attitude towards reaching an agreement is "more optimistic" than in previous days.

However, based on multiple media reports, Israel and Hamas did not show optimism that day.

Israeli media on Monday quoted an Israeli official as saying that Israel and Hamas still have major differences, and neither side has yet provided a list of detained persons willing to be released.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a video speech on Monday that he had received a detailed report on the new round of Gaza ceasefire negotiations being held in Cairo. He said that in order to win this round of Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the Israeli army needs to enter the city of Rafah and a date is set for a ground offensive in Rafah.

Al Jazeera quoted a Hamas source later on Monday that no progress had been made in the negotiations on Sunday and Hamas negotiators had left Cairo. The source said the Israeli delegation did not respond to any of Hamas's demands. Hamas has been calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, the return of Palestinians to the northern Gaza Strip and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza.

During previous rounds of indirect talks, Hamas demanded a complete cessation of the war, while Israel agreed only to a temporary ceasefire and rejected Hamas' request to allow displaced civilians to return home.

Israel launched a large-scale offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip to retaliate against a Hamas rampage through southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, during which about 1,200 people were killed and more than 200 were taken hostage.
