A resident in Jerusalem was left in shock as they witnessed dozens of missiles fired by Iran soaring towards Israel.

They told Newsflare: "I was at my family home in the old city of Jerusalem when I heard the low buzz of the drones and the sound of the bombings outside my window late in the night.

"Then all of a sudden the emergency siren went off and I went outside to check. I saw one of the drones fly by and I went onto my roof to take a better look. When I went up to the roof, I pulled out my phone and started recording the missiles being taken out by the iron dome.

"This is the first time something like this happened over the holy city of Jerusalem.

"Everyone was going onto their roofs to watch the aerial raid, something many of us have never experienced before especially in one of the holiest cities in the world."
