STORYLINE:

Egyptian Air Force has airdropped tonnes of relief and humanitarian aid, including food and medical supplies, to the Gaza Strip during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

Following the instructions of Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, the Egyptian Air Force executed daily air drops of humanitarian aid in cooperation with Jordan.

This initiative aligns with Egypt's endeavors to reach a ceasefire and secure the aid flow.

In a meeting with UN Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza Sigrid Kaag on Monday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry called for the opening of all land crossings between Israel and the Gaza Strip to increase the flow of aid.

Shoukry urged for swift and serious action to deal with the dire humanitarian crisis in the besieged enclave by enforcing an immediate and permanent ceasefire and ensuring the intensive and safe delivery of aid.
