Dramatic footage has emerged of a car engulfed in flames on St Kilda Rd in Melbourne, Australia.

The video, shot from an office on Tuesday afternoon local time, shows firefighters arriving on the scene after it spread to another car.

According to local reports the car exploded and burst into flames around 2:45pm Tuesday, local time.

The owner reportedly tried to extinguish it before leaving it to the professionals.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the explosion is currently under investigation.

Police have all but ruled out a car bomb as the cause of a parked car just outside my Melbourne office. This video was taken from the 5th floor looking down on the accident.

A second car was also caught on fire.
